About the Art
This artwork explores passionate black queer love, a love that is not always accepted or understood but always finds a way since the beginning of time. Most of my work is queer femme centered, being depicted as a big colorful beautiful celebration of eccentric, untraditional heteronormative identities. The piece invites viewers to feel joy, curiosity and confidence in their own exploration of gender expression and sexuality and relationships and the respect of others whom may not live the way you do.
 
About the Artist
My name is Jonesy! and I am a 32 year-old self-taught, mixed, queer artist currently based in Cincinnati, OH. My work focuses on human intersectionality, the nuance of identity and fantasizes a world that thrives beyond basic hetero-normative thinking. I use loud, and flamboyant queer imagery of other-worldly characters visualized happily thriving in full flying, glorious colors outside the rigid black and white boxes our society places on them and their identities. I want my spectators to see something positive and exciting in the work and to feel SEEN and embraced and celebrated for the unique colors of their own existence. I encourage you to see yourself in all your living colors. -Jonesy
